Tycho‘s Scott Hansen is amazing and so is his graphic design. Dive is his new full-length release and it is out on Ghostly International now.

Here is Teen Daze’s take on the track Hours.

I keep hearing and seeing Junior Senior’s Move Your Feet everywhere nowadays. Maybe it’s because we are reminded of it’s awesomeness with the new disco-revival that’s blowing up, ’cause it is a damn good song.

Tobtok, the disco, dance-ignitin’, pistol-whippin’ Swedish lord of the beats have done an edit to this classic and is sharing it with his fans, namely me and the rest of you. Enjoy!

Oh SaiR, you had me at “sunset”, now take me to your lair of disco and shower me with funk. Allright, enough pillow-talk. SaiR has fuzzy basses, thick dreamy synths, and lays down some sweet-ass solos once in a while. It’s sexy, and it’s what I love about this style of music.

Ah yes, the 10th release on Top Billin‘s Nightrunners series, they always get me excited. This time around they are offering us gifts from Portugal, and namely a duo called Voxels.

This music is reminiscent of old house with a dash of spacey disco, it’s catchy yet sort of minimal in it’s character. The sexy female lyrics really sets this to a new level than it would being only instrumental, might get too repetitive. The track that stood out was The Feeling, which uses elements of the tropical style.

You can get this release on Beatport. And I just found a Voxels remix of Moullinex, I love it.

Azzido Da Bass http://www.dangerdanger.org/2011/11/20/azzido-da-bass/ http://www.dangerdanger.org/2011/11/20/azzido-da-bass/#comments Sun, 20 Nov 2011 20:48:41 +0000 Jan Lindholm http://www.dangerdanger.org/?p=6033

I love dreamy retro-electro. And then sometimes I love some pumping, hard and primal club-techno. It’s the minimal use of drums and noises that gets me off the most, it’s like a futuristic return to tribal-music. And it works wonders when you want to get a sweat on in the bedroom or dance-floor, or both at the same time.

Azzido Da Bass have popped up a lot during my days as a writer of music, on blogs, in clubs.. Here and there. He’s kind of a big deal, that’s what I’m getting at here. And I’m betting his apartment smells of rich mahogany.

This release will drop tomorrow on lectroluv, you can get it at fine selected digital outlets. And here’s his remix they are handing out for free, it’s wonderful. Here’s his Dooms Day mix aswell.

PS. Sorry for not writing much, work and my club is taking up a lot of my time. And btw send me a message if you know a Swedish or Finnish artist that’d be interested in playing for 300+ people in a tiny town in Finland on the 26th of December.

Josh Legg of Binary fame have put his excess creativity into a solo-project, and thank the electro-gods for that. This is very much, and even more so, what I’d expect from one of the guys who brought so much to the genre. This is dreamy, swaying, calm yet dance-able. When that snare-drum hits I can feel my pulse rise one level higher.

Walter Sobcek + Pharao Black Magic http://www.dangerdanger.org/2011/10/31/walter-sobcek-pharao-black-magic/ http://www.dangerdanger.org/2011/10/31/walter-sobcek-pharao-black-magic/#comments Mon, 31 Oct 2011 15:14:22 +0000 Jan Lindholm http://www.dangerdanger.org/?p=6020

Walter Sobcek is not only a character from the Big Lebowski, they are also an Parisian electronic duo who have grown from a blog-favourite to a bigger act featured in Annie Mac’s Radio One, RCRD LBL and Rob Da Bank.

I remember when I got one of Walter Sobcek‘s first tracks ever produced, the emotions I got from it was very retro and dreamy, long intros building up layer upon layer. Now they have taken a another turn, not straying too much from their original path, maintaining their love for great melodies but now bringing vocals in that makes this even more attractive. You can stream the original and buy it on Juno.

To give you guys for free I have an amazing remix of this very track by Pharao Black Magic.

PS. Shut the fuck up, Donnie!

The master of slow-mo house, Kartell, have always brought amazing originals and remixes to the table. Though I prefer his own works. And never has a track he put out disappointed me, I am pleasantly surprised every time.

The track Pigalle is a pulsating relaxed disco-ish house track, teasing you into motion, inviting you into his den of sensual beats and thrusting samples. And did I hear a Girls on Film sample?

Do you like to dream yourself away in music? If so, I think you would love Korallreven. I’ve seen the name jump around in the blogosphere and on net-zines, and now finally I am confronted with this magical wall of dreamy pop. Like waves crashing towards a abandoned beach, Korallreven brings forth worlds of meditative rhythms and melodies. It’s not hard to float away into fantasies with this hypnotic creation.

The album An Album By Korallreven is heavily influenced by tribal music of the Samoans, starting off enticing you into calm relaxation and then finally bursting into an passionate eruption. The track Sa Sa Samoa features the vocals of Julianna Barwick, which gives it a choir-like feel, perfect for this track.

October 15th will be the release-date for their wonderful album, you can pick it up here.

Robotaki + Housse De Racket http://www.dangerdanger.org/2011/10/28/robotaki-housse-de-racket/ http://www.dangerdanger.org/2011/10/28/robotaki-housse-de-racket/#comments Fri, 28 Oct 2011 10:27:19 +0000 Jan Lindholm http://www.dangerdanger.org/?p=5997

Allright, I haven’t been around for a while, I’ve had my dear friend Antti Walker writing for a couple of months and I thank him for that. Hopefully we can do something together someday. But I decided I wanted to have this blog as my own, and do it as I want… It’s my little baby, ya know?!

My life took a nose-dive and then a blast upwards, won’t go into any details, but I had to put this blog on hold with other things going on. But soon realized that much of this blog, this work we do for free, has and is giving me a whole lot. Connections to amazing musicians, free music and an placebo for my own missing musical progress (though that might change, got some help from Basti from Final DJs).

Now, a new life, single and happy. The world is my oyster again. Let’s start writing about music again.

Though my absence from my blog have left me somewhat in the dark when it comes to new music, I haven’t missed Robotaki, no sir. Both his Daft Punk and Chilly Gonzales remixes blew my electro-head right off, innovative and thick as a porno-dick. This Canadian producer haven’t even hit 21 (he’s 19) and he is making heavy-weight stuff. Hands down amazing stuff. So to celebrate my rise from the ashes I give you Robotaki‘s remix of Housse De Racket. Yumm.
