Galactic Boys – Men Must Explore
This thing with feminism and all, I whole-heartedly support equality and try my best to act accordingly. But I have a tendency to seek this thing Dawkins calls “truth-value”, and I try not to follow blindly what most people consider to be the most correct and the height of reason, universally.
So I try some experiments now and then to test “a hypothesis of some feminist views”, that’s what I call it.. I just came up with it.. And I read the free Fenno-Swedish magazine called Papper, which has a lot sneaky undertones of feminism.
It’s really annoying when a writer deliberately inserts phrases, coins expressions and puts down works that somehow doesn’t fit into their view of how women should be portrayed and how men can express themselves.
So I tried to translate every women-favoring sentence made in the magazine from a mans point of view. And just found out that if you’d do that, the guy who wrote it would surely be decapitated by a mob of women.
In this subject it always seems like women always have the “women-card” to play, “I’m a woman therefore I am automatically correct when it comes to equality issues”. We tend to look past that these equality issues is not man-made, they are concived by the people within that society. And we don’t really want to talk about the anxiety men feel about certain issues, and in my experience they seem to be as much as the other genders living on this planet. Mens issues are trivilaised and put down. But hey, we are the oppressors, nobody wants to stroke a rabid dog with a huge boner on, right?
Some guy, I don’t remember who, sent me this link to the Galactic Boys Myspace and told me to check them out ’cause they weren’t that good at self-promotion but made awesome music. And darn it, he was right. That guy man, on a mission. What a guy. I like him.
Anyway, I don’t know what the Galactic Boys view on feminism is but they do know that Men Must Explore, we do. They come from Germany and create retro-futuristic electro that makes you dance and remiss about times when we had Play-Doh and Transformers and listened to Human League and Gary Numan, well not really, they have a more “club” feel to them. I loves it, I really do, I’m not just saying it.
