Human Life + Jump Jump Dance Dance
The L.A. based duo of Chris Carter and Simon Lewicki, called Jump Jump Dance Dance, blend influences from the neo-rock/pop palette of sounds and with that of the more electronic rooted energy. Yes, energy. The pulsating beats and the reach-for-the-roof push. They’re not re-inventing the genre here, but as much as originality nowadays is another word for weird, this works perfectly. It’s like with this whole ordeal with Avatar, “ooh, it’s like pocahontas and ferngully.. James Cameron copied it like a mofo”, but let me say this: Just because the story have been told in some other way it doesn’t make it any less good. Look at most movies, I bet most of them have been done before in some way or another.
As to this remix by Human Life, it is exactly up my area of musical preference, bongo drums at the beginning to get the feets moving, the light soft synths soothing you in, the funky bass-line and the jumpy chorus. Perfect low-key track, and a thanks to Discodust again. You can get the Grum remix here as well. The video for Show Me the Night by Jump Jump Dance Dance.
