Skinnerbox
Originality is one of the things I look for in the music when posting on this blog, and Skinnerbox certainly has that quality. Their sneaky and mysterious techno is unpredictable and erratic, they sway from funky disco to minimal techno, and all in one track. But the music never gets too “all over the place”, it sustains its core and becomes very interesting as you go along and discover new sounds in every listen.
They’re like the Simian Mobile Disco of the experimentally unknown, they have that same passion for obscure and analog synths, keeping it real like that. And these tracks requires some patience and time aswell.
Their debut album King Of Spades & Marmalade released on Doxa Records is out now. You can buy this release physically and digitally.
