The first time I laid my eyes on the Finnish duo Jesse was on Hel-Looks, both Ana and Keke sporting some of the most bad-ass accessories from the 80′s I could imagine. The fanny-pack was present, the dirty high basketball sneakers were on and so were the mustaches. And I was baffled by their “don’t give a 2-cent shit” look and attitude. Later on I found out they had an electro-act called Jesse and had to check it out, ’cause these bastards couldn’t get away with this shit unless they had something to back it up with.
And fuck, it blew me away. This dirty rock n’ roll, analog synth, genre-fucking electro was exactly what the doctor prescribed. And I continued to follow up on these guys, and even got to catch them live at UMF last year.
So, to follow up on their debut KAIKKI, which came out in 2008, they have a fresh new album called TUM TUM TUM to be released on the 25th of November (buy it here). The maxi 12″ single is out now and will feature the remix by Jori Hulkkonen. You can buy this release if you so wish. Good shit.
