120 Days – Selftitled
So this is the debut from the norwegian band 120 days. I must say that I was in doubt about this record from the get-go, I was prepared for the usual ”dozen band” (ty kjell) that tries to sound like every other shit band that’s out there.
Okay, I know, I should’nt get angry at them. It’s not their fault they suck.
But now we’re not talking about them, I’m in the middle of explaining the difference between complete rubbish and genious.
I was actually quite amazed by the atmosphere these guys painted up on this record, it’s dark and spacy, with that kraut-rock touch. A fast pounding bassdrum and a church-like guitar makes up the foundation of 120 Days.
And I like it.
The record sounds like Silverbullit, Pink Floyd and Animal (from the muppets) shaking hands and agreeing that a trip to space would be the best way to explore new musical frontiers.
