The Tapeaters
The land to the east from me, a.k.a Russia seems to be bringing a lot to the electro-world right now. First we saw The Proxy taking over, and then, one of my personal favorites, Tesla Boy. And now The Tapeaters have brought forth to my ears to show me true innovative Russian music. The duo hails from the awesome place of Nizhny Novgorod (Gorky), and combine elements of soul and a bit of funk into their style of electro.
Their honesty towards beautiful and catchy hooks is apparent in their music, it just makes this such a fresh soup of awesomeness. The vocals are sexy, the flow in all the tracks are smooth and dancy, all the pieces fall together in a way it’s close to perfection.. If not just that. Love it.
