Afghan Raiders
SMOKED SALMONZ! I’m back. You know, if someone told you to walk a dog everyday for 2 years straight, you would at some point want a break from walking it right? You love the dog to death and hug it and shit. But some times that love need a break. Which I did with this blog. It’s much like a relation between a family dog and the person taking care of it. You get the simile I’m getting at right?
Anyway, I had a blast with my family and friends. Until the creeping angst came a’crawling up my spine like a bad fever, grabbing my core and holding my passions and love down in a strangehold down on the floor, crushing my dreams.. Comparing my soul to the ones beside me in the club, forcing me to become one with the concrete, the grey “in-between”. Crushing every sense to the limit, making me listen to 2pac’s California Love and Alice Cooper.. And Pras’ Ghetto Superstar when I wanted atleast Human League or Pet Shop Boys.
And concerning my club-nights I organized, I’ll give you a saying which I told my aunt.. “It’s hard to a revive one that has been dead for years”. I enjoyed myself and succeeded somewhat what I came to do. The performers and those who helped were awesome. A big thank you to them. The biggest compliments came from the oldest punk in hometown (who hates electro) and a artist, which I don’t know the name of. They were both drunk. But I felt what they were saying. They truly appreciated what I was trying to accomplish. But what can we blame in the end? the festival that was organized on the same dates? Or the apathy in people?
Punks or electro-fags.. Really, there’s not that a big of a difference. I come from a background in punk/hardcore.. Same shit went down there, we (or I) wanted to create a feeling, a experience that is different from the world outside the venue-doors, a fantasy-world.. Or what I perceive to be the real world. A world were spontaneity is key, were passion can flourish. Anyway..
Maybe I’m taking this a bit too seriously. But then again, I’m a dreamer. Someone that wants more. Thank you, Elvis has left the building.
Afghan Raiders bitches. Best shit ever.
