Interview With Pillage And Exclusive Tracks
So I sat down for a chat with French duo Pillage over Msn, it was a relatively short interview. With their song Kidzfresh on a American label for a compilation and their song Okay on a sampler for the electro-magazine Trax, things are looking good for the guys. I’ll be “DD” and they’ll be “Ebiara” and “Jerediah”.
DD says:
Okey, hey guys, what’s up? anything important going on right now in your lives music wise?
EBIARA says:
Yes, a lot of important things are going on for us since January, we sold our first track “kidzfresh” to an american label for a electro rock compilation and our last track “okay” is on the cd sampler of the best electro magazine in france called “trax”.
Jerediah says:
Yep, we don’t have that much magazine, but this one is really the greatest so we’re really happy.
DD says:
Sounds great, so how did Pillage come to exist? What made you start this act?
Jerediah says:
Almost an accident, we met at a radio station, we both had a show there. And we started mixing together because I wasn’t that good and I needed Flo to help me, we met in Paris a few month later and decide to make a band. About a year ago yeah.
EBIARA says:
One year soon. And we never thought that making tracks would be so fun.
DD says:
Brilliant! Where do u gather inspiration for your sounds and music?
Jerediah says:
Well, both of us really like 80′s sound. And Flo is really into 90′s electro and techno. He used to produce some really fine electronica tracks. He almost got signed actually.
EBIARA says:
Fred ‘s got a huge hiphop and house background. I’m more influenced by the electronica, the punk and the rave things.
DD says:
Wow, that’s sounds like a ideal background. Are there any blogs or sites u follow to catch up on music?
Jerediah says:
Not really. We’re not really fan of blogs, except Danger! Danger! of course.
EBIARA says:
I really love matrixsynth like a lot of great people as he chemical brothers, it’s really good. Matrixsynth.
DD says:
Any favourite 80′s movies?
Jerediah says:
Ho, a lot of 80′s favorite movies. Hard one.
EBIARA says:
All the zombies films, “elmer” is a real good bad film. In fact we could speak for two , we love the same things, the same movies , the same girlz.
DD says:
So, what are you gonna do for valentine?
Jerediah says:
Have sex hopefully, what else could we do?
EBIARA says:
Fuck some girls maybe, you see !!!!! the same !!!!.
DD says:
U R 2 OF A KIND.
Jerediah says:
But we don’t like the same girls, that’s also a cool thing.
DD says:
Okey, what do you think when you hear the word “Finland”?
Jerediah says:
Cold, cool music, Father christmas.
EBIARA says:
ôölumshmonmir.. I really like 22 pistepirkko, I think they are from Finland… That’s my favourite band dude!!! They are really incredible on stage.
Jerediah says:
Flo is a name dropping master.
DD says:
Dont u like any Finnish electro?
Jerediah says:
Wo, that’s a hard question. I usually get confused with Swedish bands, I think you hate what I’ve just said.
EBIARA says:
I met a really good producer on myspace I can’t remember, wait a minute.
DD says:
