STILBRUCH

Futurecop!

We just posted the collabo with Keenhouse and here we are yet again with a Futurecop! track.

On March 29th 2011 Futurecop! will release their EP called Starworshipper. And as always-ish, I’m gonna try to break this down as honest as I can. Now, we all 80′s lovers have come to store a soft spot for Futurecop! with their beautifully compiled mixture of music that bring back memories and freshen them up with originality, as well as their visually stimulating homages and artworks.

Starworshipper, I’m pretty sure, was a little older track that has finally gotten its deserved real release. And don’t get me wrong here, and I love when producers brings in vocalists to big-up the instrumental version, but auto-tune rap and greasy MTV-vox? I’ve also noticed a lot of the neo-80′s bands going down the “clubbier” and *coughcough* commercial road. The reason this music style appeal to me wasn’t its pop-qualities, nor its airtime value, ’cause frankly I don’t think that’s why anyone got into making this kind of genre, so why are we trying to go down that alley?

I love you, Futurecop!, but is this really the way to go? Maybe I’m overreacting here, but I’m a sensitive soul, and I want somethings to stay the way they were.

What do you guys think? Maybe my readers can shine some light on this.

Neon ZombieRobot:

Could not agree with you more! I’ve been listening to Futurecop! since late 2007 and it seems like they are just getting more and more “commercial”. Transformers, Starwarshipper, Dreams, ect. Were all magical (instrumental) songs that created a mood (a soundtrack if you will) Now I can’t even listen to this bubblegum crap…

Hue:

Right on ZombieRobot. Another honorable mention, Fear of Tigers. A great beat is timless imho, great track Jan. Thanks FUTURECOP!

Draper:

I have to agree with Zombie here, I really miss the old Futurecop!

What is with all these guys that make these great instrumentals, get big and then decide that they should have vocals now?

Jan:

I am all for vocals, if its done correctly and good. But this seems a bit commercial for my taste. Thanks for all the responses, guys!

dislokated:

I think the track is good. The vocals are bubblegum though. I bought their album ‘Its Forever, Kids’ mainly due to that ‘The Beast of Saturn’ track. But I’ve got mixed feelings on the album itself. Too many unnecessary vocals. Most of the tracks would do well as instrumentals.

Jan:

Have to listen to the whole album.

discotrix:

gimme a break, these guys are clowns, they just steal 80s pics from google image searches (he-man, 80s movies)

they dont even know how to produce their own music

discotrix:

its gimmick shit

hannah:

get a life discotrix; i bet you are a highly qualified producer but couldnt make a hit to save your life! ha! futurecop! and keenhouse are awesome and both so under rated its unbelievable.

SLiM:
